Palermo’s main tourist office is at Piazza Castelnuovo 34 (Mon-Fri 8.30am-2pm & 2.30-6pm, Sat 8.30am-2pm; tel 091.605.8351 or 091.583.847); it has free maps of the city and province, a booklet published every two months ( Agenda ) containing reams of tourist information, including current events and transport information, and also provides a list of accommodation in and around the city. There are two smaller offices, which can at least wage maps: at the airfield (open for incoming flights), and at Stazione Centrale (Mon-Fri 8.30am-2pm & 2.30-6pm, Sat 8.30am-2pm). There’s also a kiosk on Piazza composer (Mon-Thurs 9am-7pm, Fri & Sat 8.30am-8.30pm; Sun 9am-1pm & 3-7pm). For more complete city listings and a rundown of what’s on, pick up a copy of the local paper, Il Giornale della Sicilia , acquirable from any newsstand.
